Break the Bargain with Darkness
Sin often comes disguised as something harmless, even enticing, but it always comes with a cost. Sometimes we find ourselves making small compromises, thinking, “It’s just this once,” or, “It’s not that big of a deal.” But every compromise with darkness builds a stronghold—a place where the enemy gains influence in our hearts and lives. These strongholds can trap us in cycles of guilt, shame, and defeat, keeping us from experiencing the fullness of God’s freedom. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” —James 4:7
Breaking free starts with full surrender to God. Simply trying harder or bargaining with sin won’t be the difference maker, but repentance and trusting God to do what we can’t will. The enemy thrives on secrecy and denial, but when we bring our struggles into the light, they lose their power. Confession and prayer are key to dismantling strongholds, along with immersing ourselves in God’s Word, which equips us with truth to combat the lies of the enemy.
You don’t have to live enslaved to sin or bound by the past. Jesus died to set you free completely—no partial freedom, no lingering chains. Let today be the day you stop making deals with darkness and step fully into the light. Trust in God’s power to break every chain and lead you into the abundant life He has for you.
“If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” —John 8:36
